Paige Bradley created one of the most striking sculptures I’ve seen in recent times. Her masterpiece, entitled Expansion, is a beautiful woman seeking inner piece but fractured and bleeding with light.
“From the moment we are born, the world tends to have a container already built for us to fit inside: a social security number, a gender, a race, a profession,” says Bradley. “I ponder if we are more defined by the container we are in than what we are inside. Would we recognize ourselves if we could expand beyond our bodies?”

Girls are going crazy for Jeffrey Campbell right now. If you don’t know who Jeffrey Campbell is then for SHAME! His shoes are AH-MAY-ZING! If you look through lookbook.nu most of the girls are wearing them. I, too, have been bitten by the Jeffrey Campbell Love Bug! I especially love Litas. But sadly my wallet can’t take its hefty price tag. So my solution? I got some knock offs copycats online. They took forever to get here but totally worth the wait. BUT BUT BUT…Before you judge me, I’d like to make it clear that I got copycats not fakes. There’s a big difference between a cheaply made product pretending to be the real thing, and a brand creating a product that is inspired by another product.

I don’t really know how I feel whenever I put my shoes up to sell online. People buy second hand shoes everyday so it’s nothing odd or anything. I don’t buy second hand shoes, but lots of people do and there’s nothing wrong with that. But parting with my shoes, even if I don’t use them anymore, is always bittersweet. Some of my shoes hold a lot of memories. I know it’s weird, shoes holding memories. Seriously, how bizarre is that? But it’s so true though!
For example, I have these black stiletto sandals that I’ve had since Junior prom. They’ve traveled with me from the Philippines to LA and from LA to New Zealand. I don’t think they even fit anymore but I keep lugging them around the world with me because they just remind me of so many good things. I wore them a my first school prom (and they were pretty much the best part of my prom outfit), and they were my first “expensive” (to me they were expensive) pair of shoes which I actually paid for. When I saw them I fell in love. When I look at them now I still love them, even though they look pretty dated. I just can’t bear to part with them but I know I have to because I just have no space to put them and there’s no point having all these shoes I don’t use. I know it shouldn’t be hard but it is.
I’ll do it slowly, I guess. The non-important ones first. The ones that aren’t as special will be the first to go. Gosh, it feels like I’m picking favorites between my children. It’s ridiculous, but baby steps… I guess.
You want to fall in love with a shoe, go ahead. A shoe can’t love you back, but, on the other hand, a shoe can’t hurt you too deeply either. And there are so many nice-looking shoes. -Allan Sherman
I wore my brand new wedges to work the other day (yay!). I bought them from ASOS about a month ago, and if you don’t know ASOS, then you shouldn’t call yourself a shopaholic (for shame!). ASOS is an online store -www.asos.com- based in the UK. They are super affordable and, even better, they offer FREE (yes that’s right!) international shipping. Now, I live in New Zealand which is way over the other end of the world. I must say, that even though I love love love living in New Zealand, I hate the fact that it ALWAYS costs an arm and a leg to get things shipped here. Seriously, it’s like we’re living in an isolated island ala Swiss Family Robinson. So it’s always nice to find an online store that offers this, especially one based in the UK!
Anyway, going back to wearing my shoes to work…I firmly believe that a true test of your shoes’ comfort is if you can wear them to work and not come out with caluses the size of onions on your feet at the end of the day. So, of course I decided to test this pair out. Everyone knows that the hardest part of shopping online is never being able to try things on. So I was pretty much crossing my fingers hoping that these shoes were at least tolerable. They didn’t even have to be super comfy, they just had to be comfy enough for me to be able to put up with wearing them for eight hours. Boy, could I not believe it when it turned out that these shoes were not only tolerable but one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. They were perfect! I wore them the whole day and it was great! I felt fabulous and looked fabulous. I take my hat off to you ASOS for delivering a good quality and superbly priced product (plus I would have been so disappointed if they had been uncomfy and I had to pay to return and ship them all the way back to the UK - haha!).
I promise I’m getting a new camera soon!

Whoever said money can’t buy happiness simply didn’t know where to go shopping.
